Induction Ceremony- April 8, 2015
The induction ceremony serves to recognize current members and welcome new members into the Foothill High School chapter of the National Honor Society. If you have met the rigorous requirements of 14 community service hours per quarter and maintained a 3.3 unweighted GPA, you will be sent an invitation to the ceremony. All members will light a candle and stand vigil while the new inductees recite the following pledge:
"I pledge myself to uphold the high purposes of the National Honor Society to which I have been selected; I will be true to the principles for which it stands; I will be loyal to my school; and will maintain and encourage high standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character."
We will be holding the induction ceremony from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on April 8th in the Augspurger Theater at Foothill High School. Invite your family and friends to come and celebrate the event. The following awards are bestowed on members for attaining membership at the following levels:
1st year inductees will be given a membership card and may call themselves members in good standing for college applications and career resumes.
2nd year members will receive an official National Honor Society pin which may be worn over the school letter on the letterman's jacket.
3rd year members (seniors) or 2nd year seniors inducted during their junior year will receive honor cords to be worn at the graduation ceremony in June to set you apart as a member of the National Honor Society to your family and friends.
These braided and tassel-tipped honor cords are truly special because the NHS colors are the same as Foothill High School's- Gold and Blue! These cords will become an important keepsake and representation of your academic achievement, service, leadership and character.
